In just over three weeks (!) the Chicago lakefront path is going to be full of carb-loaded, tapered and excited runners (from all over the world!) shaking things out before race day. Waves crashing, hearts pumping, laughter and joy and gratitude and nervous anticipation of what’s to come! It really is the best and there’s simply nothing like it!! This piece of art was inspired by all of that buzzing excitement, community love and electric air!

Chicago Marathoners, YOU’VE GOT THIS! Thinking of all of you as you get those final big runs in before tapering after training all summer long (the hottest one we have had in the US in over 130 years!). Let’s Run the Windy City! 👟🌬️❤️

The iconic Chicago Theatre has been lighting up State Street for over a hundred years, but on Marathon day the RUNNERS are the real show!!!😍

You’ll feel the most electric energy as you cruise past it in the early miles before embarking on a tour of one of the most spectacular races our country has to offer. The street is filled with marathon morning magic - the sounds of runners parading through, cowbells ringing, fans cheering. It’s so cool.

We created this special piece of art to help you celebrate and remember it by, and included it on the course map too (swipe to see!) which can be personalized with your time after the race!

Getting SO excited for all of you running Chicago and just can’t wait to cheer for you on October 11th!!

Happy Monday and a reminder to everyone - whether you’re out there in the thick of training, just beginning, rounding into the taper or recovering after a race (especially one that didn’t go how you hoped it would):

No effort is ever wasted. 🖤💖🖤

Trust that all of your efforts towards being better and stronger will yield growth. Sometimes in ways we hope and strive for. Sometimes in ways that exceed what we can dream and imagine for ourselves. And yes, sometimes in ways that break our hearts and feel like absolute failure and make us want to give up.

But the effort, the TRY, it does not go to waste!!

And the decision to keep going will always move us forward. 🌱

Remember that.

One thing I love about running is that it helps make both the good and the bad days better.

When I’m having a good day, a run feels like a celebration 🙂✨🎉

When I’m feeling blue, it lifts me up 💙☁️🌈

And when I start my day with a run, unsure of how things will unfold, I feel like no matter what happens I’ve given myself the gift of movement to take it on and in.

Bean there, run that. 🫘😀👟

26.2 miles down and there’s only one place to celebrate — squished reflections, sweaty medals, and tons of runners all trying to get the perfect shot at the Bean! Chicago marathoners know the drill: no finisher photo is complete without your warped little selfie under Cloud Gate ☁️ it’s just so much fun. Getting excited!

Will you head to the Bean in Chicago for a post race selfie with your medal?! 😍
